about

Prior to the heralded “Hot off the Press,” an early iteration of News backed singer-songwriter Jeff Fortgang, who wrote Rod Stewart’s #8 hit, ‘Some Guys Have All the Luck’. Here is the original studio version of the song, recorded by News in 1972. Faves include ‘Lady in Vermont', ‘I Want to Come Back’ and ‘You Don’t Know Me’ by Jeff and ‘Whatever Happened to Love’ sung by band member Michele. Style is very different from “Hot off the Press” and along the lines of David Gates/Barry Manilow/Billy Joel.
